2D Mannequin Assignment

An assignment for 2D Design class featuring two thug mannequins robbing a little old granny mannequin. I tried to focus on value and composition for the most part. I also distorted the mannequins' bodies just for fun. Used a black pen for the line drawing and charcoal pencils for the value drawing.

Acrylic Still Life

For Paint & Color Theory homework I had to create my own still life that would convey meaning or mood or a theme and it had to have a color scheme (my color scheme fail'd lawl. I meant for it to be red and green). I can't say it has real deep meaning uh... it's some toy army men, the main one missing its head and arms, facing off against lizard and tiger toys. Truthfully I just wanted to take a shot at tenebrism again. Looking back I'm not so sure my last attempt at tenebrism was too successful http://moconfer.blogspot.com/2009/06/raghavan-portrait.html

adsklgjhf;g I love tenebrism fyi. When I have time I want to expirement with light and dark some more.

Fall Still Life

Did this here painting fer Paint & Color Theory class. This is the first time I've done a glaze painting (basically layering paint that's been thinned down with medium onto a nuetral underpainting or something). I have mixed feelings about how it turned out.

Scrrrrooge McDuck

Felt compelled to paint this Disney character randomly. I have a feeling that making these little oil cut outs is gonna become really addictive really fast. I'm already making plans to make more ha ha.

Dorm Door Decoration

So I'm on my fifth week at CCAD and while its pretty stressful I'm still having a good time and enjoying my classes. There are so many lessons and concepts for us to remember I keep losing track of them all! Maybe I should just make a list and write down all these points my teachers want me to remember.

Anyway in the dorm some of the other kids have been hanging up decorations or making some cool name tags for their doors. I wanted to do something for our door too and so I bought some canvas paper from the school's supply store and painted up this fella, cut him out, and slapped him on my door. (: I figured since I love silly looking characters and I also love oil paint those would be the best elements to incorporate into my decoration and to describe myself with.

Photos from Summer

My mom had some old color film laying around and I wanted to take some pictures. I haven't used my old camera in a while so it both fun and refreshing to get back to photography. Here are a few of the photos I took...

Something

I was a bit upset about something yesterday and so I vented a little on a canvas with some oil. This was the result:

Tegaki Still Life

My parents and grandparents had bought a bunch alcohol when they went wine tasting. I thought the bottles looked interesting when they were sitting on the counter in front of the windows and had to try drawing them. I used some online program thing to do this. Nothing super. It was rather quick.

Cooties!

My second wall painting. This one is of two children. It seems like the girl is trying to get a kiss from the boy. Y'know I'm thinking that in the future it will be the other way around... that same boy will probably be the one begging for a kiss and the girl'll be the one complaining. : )

Wall Face

My painting teacher asked me to paint on the wall outside of her room. This is one of two paintings I did with acrylic paint on her wall. I am very honored to have been allowed to do so!

Sky Land Sea

An oil sky/land/seascape. Not as detailed as most of my other artworks but it was a fun experimentation.

Raghavan Portrait

An oil painting of a character of mine. I was experimenting with light and dark. This could have been a lot better I suppose and there are many mistakes that bother me, but overall I'm satisfied with it.

More Faces

Some more faces I painted up. I think clicking on the pics will let you see the images bigger or something... I think...

Odd Faces

An oil painting composed of six different faces. They aren't anyone in particular. Just some people I came up with. This one was a lot of fun.

Close-ups: Click the below images to view them larger and with better quality.

Sen and Eri Oil Painting

An oil painting of one of my sisters, Sen, and one of the foreign exchange students we hosted, Eri. She's from Japan and actually returned to Japan this week. :( Eeeeeeriiii.

Pen & Ink Army Men

Thought I'd start this blog with some of my old artwork. Well not too old. Just my best pieces from high school. This is a pen & ink drawing of some disfigured toy army men I found out at a playground. A curious discovery I thought and found them to be a challenging yet interesting subject to draw.

First Post

Hello. This is a blog I made in order to share some of my art with friends, families, and teachers. Hopefully if I can figure this site out (I've never had a blog like this before) I'll post some WIPs, finished projects, and maybe spam some quickies for fun.

Thanks everyone who's come to visit my blog and hope its not a total waste of your time. :)
